Join Us TodayIn the old days -- before Sweet Jack -- I used have my oldest grandson come stay for a night about once a month. We started this when he was about 3 and continued for seven or eight years. He lives in a community that is about 70 miles from Chicago and, as they say, lifestyles away. What a joy it has been to introduce him to museums, riding the el, playing on a Lake Michigan beach, and generally living in an urban environment! I found a little exploring partner as his different perspective (literally) taught me to see things in a new way. We are both pretty much up for anything.
Since I now live in two places and he is now involved in various sports and a full blown pre-teen, our patterns have been disrupted. I have been more than a bit apprehensive about if things would change. Of course they have! Different, but equally good. I can see we still love going to the city and do whenever we get the chance, enjoy various museums, going to the movies -- but we also now have hang out time, he with his skateboard and me with my beloved new bike. I needn't have worried, the foundation we have built all these years is solid -- oh, the places we will go!
