Just Your Average Day

It has been a day like any other day. Hit the snooze, deciding not to get to the club at 6:30. Woke up an hour later with 30 minutes to prepare for a business call. While on the phone the painting crew arrived -- who knew there would be four of them?. A quick call to my grandkids overseas to find out that my granddaughter had just finished getting a major haircut and lost another tooth! Talk about great timing!! Quick conversation with my 9 year old grandson before he was off to a school program and rejected by the youngest grand -- he didn't have time to talk to me. I had an article to write for the Spotlight, but barely started before the guys from Crate and Barrel delivered the new daybed (unassembled, of course) for my office. Can you stand to have a new toy unassembled? I can't! Fortunately one of the painters was available to hold one part while I set the screws, but I put it together myself. It looks fabulous!! Oops, call from the doctor requesting SJ get a blood test "Now". While he was taking care of that, I was sitting in the parking lot having a delightful time talking to Nell Merlino. SJ dropped me off, and while he was doing errands, the painters finished up, I put the house back in order and when he walked in, just as I had hoped, the house looked the same but lots more colorful! He was thrilled. I was thrilled. On to dinner. On to the debate. The events may change, but this is one of our average days, isn't it? Ready to retire? Slowing down? Hah!
