Join Us TodayWe just came back from buying Jack's first anniversary gift for me. Remember when we thought about the tradition of paper for the first anniversary? Back then who knew that I would be celebrating our first wedding anniversary just after turning 62?!?
Forget paper. I wanted a bike! The last time I went bike shopping for myself was more than 20 years ago and then I got a racing bike. Fast forward to age 62 and I am NOT interested in those hard, skinny tires, itty bitty hard seats, and 21 gears I will never use. I wanted a comfy bike I could ride in the nearby forest preserve, that I wouldn't have to study engineering to use, and that wouldn't kill my back from leaning forward to use the handlebars.
I chose a very retro seafoam green number...I think it was a compliment when SJ said it was sooo me...
It may not be a romantic, traditional gift, but it will help insure that we have many more healthy years together.
