Money Smarts

It IS About the Money

Women over 55 control 65% of the wealth and we generally "let my _______ (husband/son/ brother/ accountant/pest control guy) take care of that for me." No wonder we often feel invisible! There is no reason for companies to market more than wrinkle reducing creams to us if the perception is that is the most difficult financial decision we are willing to make.

Money Smarts /It IS About the Money

Thank goodness I was never one of those women who left finances to the man in my life. To be honest, I am sure I could have been happy to have 'him' handle the money, but that was not to be. I handled the finances in my marriage because I had to. Looking back, it was a stroke of good fortune. As far back as I can remember I did have a real, "bag lady eating cat food" fear. That would have been terrible for me, I won't even eat chunk light tuna. :-/

My husband and I did divorce many years ago, and at some point he and his new wife filed for bankruptcy. I have said silent prayers of thanks many times that I was given the wisdom to move on. I have made a good life for myself.

I don't mind the wrinkle reducing cream ads. But give me some info as to how I can get in on the ground floor of purchasing hot stock in the company too.
